2003 and later Ford vehicles equipped with the 5R110W automatic transmission commonly suffer from complete pump and torque converter failure shortly after a transmission rebuild or overhaul. One of the many reasons for pump failure after a transmission rebuild is poor pump alignment.

This kit includes two precision alignment collets as well as two steel pins allowing you to align the pump cover and the stator tube to the pump body bushing. The two collets have different inside diameters,  depending on the unit you are working on. You will choose the alignment tool that best fits your stator tube the
snuggest without forcing it. The white alignment collet has a slightly larger inside diameter than the black collet, however both tools have the same outside diameter under the shoulder. Be sure to reference the installation instructions as they include other common reasons for pump failures.
